Hi Leaf,
Sure thats no problem.
With regard to leatherworking, I decided I would like to be able to craft Stormshroud by the time I reached the 50's after reading an article on critical damage percentages. I forget the site but it recommended this armour over Devilsaur for Rogues, rightly or wrongly. I hear different points of view all the time.
Im not sure what a city pedigree/limited stake is, but I purchased some of the materials to max my leatherworking, rugged leather inparticular since I cannot farm it. This is also why my skinning is not yet maxed because there was no need to.
I found that thick leather began to drop by level 37 ( I believe), and of course in groups this was more frequently available. It's really not all that expensive to obtain leather, particularly buying outside the auction house. I suspect i spent somewhere in the region of 150g on leather in total, a worthwhile investment in my opinion and I should easily recoup this by selling items such as Helm of Fire, which I gather from reading, is worth quite a lot, if a little expensive to craft.
One of my gathering tactics was to follow hunters around STV whilst questing around Nessingwary, those that did not skin their kills and ran far away, I took them as unwanted and did this myself. I amassed quite a volume of leather this way.
I looked at a list of leatherworking patterns online and found those that required the least expensive materials to make, whilst still remaining yellow, Runic leather bracers being a favourite from I think it was 275-300. Indeed I have a surplus of such products if anyone desires them. I also made quite a lot of gold from selling Rugged Armour kits and the like.
Others patterns were similar, it is surprisingly inexpensive to max this skill providing you choose the correct patterns. For example, it would not be sensible to level your skill on barbaric bracers! From memory I used the Hillman range, followed by Nightscape in the mid 200's and then on to items crafted using purchased patterns such as Heavy Scorpid vest.
My skill was at 225 at level 38 if I remember correctly, so I waited until 40, obtained artisan, then levelled a little more using Heavy Scorpid gear, and then Runic.. At 41 or 42 I went to learn Elemental leatherworking from Sarah Tanner and after this maxed my skill easily using purchased rugged leather, although I have not actually made any stormshroud to date.
With regard to the choice of server, a friend from a large BF2 clan from which I am now retired (Major General) had a character here so he could play with his brother, he recommended which class and race to play, so I took his suggestion and Valgarv was born. I'll give the names of the players if asked in game but obviously I'd rather not publish them on an open forum.
Previously I had been playing on Alonsus (18, orc warrior) after a brief spell on Steamweedle Cartel with my level 9 undead warrior. The only downside I've found to Turalyon is the number of level 60's. Indeed, when I joined I was not aware things were split into realms, I just though the servers were balanced out in a similar way to IRC, to even the load so I did not give the "full" status any credence.
I hope this answers your query, feel free to ask me anything you wish, I'm always available for a chat.
Regards,
Valgarv
