Shaman/Warlock Application

Postby Nkhari » Thu Feb 21, 2008 8:56 pm

Hi Guys, It took me a while to get to grips with joining your site, but I'm NOT that dumb all the time, I promise!

Main character name: Nkhari

Has this character always had this name? Yup

Character class: Shaman

Character race: Drenai

Character level: 70

Character spec: Enhancement

Character tradeskill professions and levels: 375 Mining and Blacksmithing. I took Blacksmiting to craft my own weapon having had a hard time finding ones the right speed that would drop for me ^^

Character heroic keys and attunements: attuned to Kara and has all Keys

High level non trainable spells/abilities learned: N/A

Total /played time:

/played time at level 70: 6 days 18 hrs

Notable factions and their level: revered with most factions, working on exhalted with Aldor for shoulder enchant

Armory link (or CTprofile if you wish to show different gear)

http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet ... n&n=Nkhari

http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet ... on&n=Misty

Previous guild(s): Esoteric Church of Dagon (a guild formed by RL friends to level and hang out). Circle of Hope. My Shaman is in CoH now on trial and my Warlock is in ECoD.

Name, class and level of Alternate character(s):
Vaiuri 70 Feral Druid
Misty 70 SL/SL Warlock

Reasons why you would like to join: I'm looking for a guild I can progress in 25 man content with. I would like to work on and experience this content before the next expansion with a progressive and enthusiastic guild. I'm not a loot whore (ooo, shinies!), I am mainly motivated by working on and beating difficult encounters. I know your guild is capable of seeing TBC content to the end and I would dearly love to capture those moments with you.

Were all of the above characters levelled by you from the start?: Absolutely

Your real age: 25

A bit of waffle about myself -

I am not afraid of a bit of hard work, and although she is now semi-retired, I raided Vanilla Wow with my Druid visiting MC, BWL, AQ40 and Naxx in her time with GotL and Fides Invictus.

I would prefer to apply to you with my warlock Misty (please see her profile above), however, I appreciate her spec and gear are far from ideal. She does have a fully crafted Spellfire set as I have always planned to go fire destro with her. At the moment she is a pure pvp spec and her kit reflects this. Melting faces is fun. I really enjoy the big numbers and dot management with the warlock and am confident that in a short space of time she could be competitive in a raid environment.

I have recently spent a lot of time kitting and experimenting with my Shaman, Nkhari. I really enjoy melee dps, and given the melee unfriendly encounters with TBC it is a forever trying and rewarding experience ^^.

Please take a moment to look over my characters and let me know what you think.

Regards,

Vic

Hi Nkhari,

Thanks for your application! It will take a few days to review it (thats the normal process), in the meantime, could you give your thoughts on a few points?

* If we invite you, we expect you to move all alts on this server to AGPG. By the looks of it, your shaman is the better geared toon (though I'm referring this to the experts too). Would you make the shaman available, even if it is the lock you actualy aim for?
* We're wrapping up TK at the moment, and should be entering MH/BT pretty soon. Can you give an idea what's needed - in your opinion - to make your toons ready for that?

The reason why I ask these questions is that I'm a bit worried that the lock will have a hard time catching up. Don't take that as a negative though, I'm just thinking out loud.

Yo Vic!!

Needless to say I know Vic from my days in Fides Invictus :)

She would make a great addition to the guild in any form, regardless of Raiding status. Vic is hardworking, cooperative and generally a good laugh with it. Would make a great addition to the hare... err membership of the guild.

Speaking to her over the last couple of days I got the impression that her main would be her Shaman.

As you all know I am very much in favour of having an Enhancement Shaman in Raids, this one would do nicely even if a little work needs to be done with gearing up.

Hehe, much Shaman love, its nice to see :D But no love for Warlocks? :(

My friend at work pointed out that I spelt Draenei wrong on my app, I feel the need to defend myself in some way - so this is for u Greg :P

Ok, down to the serious stuff.

Moving my Warlock and Shaman to this guild would not be a problem.

Moving my Druid would be hard for me as I really want to keep a point of contact in ECoD with my friends (inc my BF) so I can quest, Party and Raid with them when not involved in AGPG activities. I appreciate moving a char really shouldnt have an effect on how I play the game with my RL friends but I guess it just feels like a loyalty conflict and I wouldnt want them to feel I'm abandoning them.

I must stress that if invited to your guild, AGPG activities would ofc come first, but I also value the time I spend playing with my RL friends too.

I agree the Shammy is better kitted. I would love the opportunity to play with the Lock, but I am happy to play either. The decision would really be yours (I'm the one coming to you after all ^^).

Well, first of all I would need to know which one to focus my efforts on. At the risk of sounding like I'm blowing my own horn (steady Krollin!), let me put into perspective how fast I can make stuff happen.....

4 weeks ago Nk was a resto Shaman with Kara standard Resto kit. I changed to Enhancement, ground her kit from nothing, respecced several times to get one 'just right' and powered BSing just to make her own axe (I reasoned weapons were my priority being a melee class).

4 weeks from Resto, to a better kitted Enhancement. And one of those weeks I was on holiday ;)

Admittedly I had a LOT of help from my friends in ECoD. I went on Kara raids with them and got some nice bits, and then after joining CoH I have picked up the odd bit here and there from Kara, Gruul and SSC.

I wont beat around the bush, to be ready for that level of raiding I would need a LOT of help from you guys. I can easily jump into ECoD raids to Kara when they go, or if you guys are up for it I'd love to go with you too. Badge kit, Kara, ZA, SSC and TK are the places for me to start with both characters tbh, my Shaman has some pitiful armour and my Warlock needs to get her ass enchanted.

I appreciate how annoying it can be to take an undergeared toon into a raid with you, especially if its at the cost of another player. However, I will make every effort to do as much small group and solo work as I can outside of your raiding times to better either of my chars in preparation for end game stuff.

Arenas and BG's are a nice esy way of filling gaps in my kit to start with, and a couple of Kara/ZA runs would soon see either of them filling out nicely.

If you would like me to come up with a gear list I am happy to do so.

One last point about the 'lock too, I have full Spellfire for her (she was Fire destro), a good starting point for her would be swopping gems for more spell hit if I were to return to that spec. Again, stats on gear etc would entirely depend on what you guys wanted from her as aa raid member.
