sorry...

but this thread seem's to have drifted off the topic of a rather impressivly geared, good attitued, known to other members shaman onto the raid dps of a shaman and then discussions about there threat generation/lack of agro dumping abilites.

not trying to be a party pooper.. but i think that ionic's application thread may not be the correct place for such discussions and maybe detract away from his application..

Biggest problem with aggro is that most people just do the 5sec count then start nuking wether the tank got aggro up or not and personaly im responsible for more then one aggro steal over the years :P. But like Rooppa said its a discussion for another thread.

As for the application I cant see any real problems with it other then that Serenity business and that we are abit full on "caster" classes. The last part can ofcourse be fixed if Ionic does agree to that maybe he will be passed over abit at first for the "old-timers".

On the agro topic, all I would really say is having been MT for a long time I am very aware of threat and it's mechanics. You will not find me without a threatmeter.

I think the "Serenity business" was concluded when my application was declined before applying here 8)

I'm not going to be spitting any dummies about not being picked for raid places as long as it's fair and I get my fair share of opportunities. Gives more time for heroics ;)

I have heard good things about Ionic, his app looks fine and his replies here have been measured and mature.

Give him a go :)

they obviously are --> giving mages a hard time topping :P, + giving nice buffs.

And since when is topping mages on the damage meters hard?

Actually the dicussion in Serenity ended with us not being sure an Elemental Shaman would be viable for our raids. It would be unfair to trial someone that eventually couldn't contribute in DPS enough, so it was mainly a spec/class discussion.

Both applications look(ed) nice and you'll probably do great if hired, good luck on that.

Have him/her/it make an application, you know we value friendship, other halves and quarters, even the 30th mistress of Leaf would be ensured a social pass ^^
Is that shaman restoration specced?

To Ionic - The fact that we're taking our time doesn't mean this application is being ignored - quite the reverse. We're chatting at the moment, partially having the conversation Serenity had but to a greater extent considering the niche you could fill as a raiding shaman.

We're like a big ship sometimes. We turn somewhat slowly, but we're pretty unsinkable. What do you mean, 'Iceberg!'?

To everyone else - As for all the comments from guildees in these threads, we took a decision many months ago to continue to expose potential recruits to a little 'rough and tumble' as long as it remained good natured. Might as well give people a flavour (good or bad!) of what they might be letting themselves in for.

Decision soon.
